OCEAN CITY ACADEMIC INVITE

The Ocean City Academic Invite is intended to give players the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of head coaches from four of the premier academic institutions in the country, while gaining an accurate appraisal of their recruiting prospects. Attending coaches will be focused purely on evaluating attendees in a small camp setting. All drills and games will be led by Ocean City coaches to ensure attending coaches’ focus stays on evaluation. Players will have the opportunity to meet with every coach in a small group (3-player max) setting, as well as to learn about the respective schools and what high-academic coaches look for in a potential recruit. Each player will receive a written evaluation by one of the four coaches in attendance, and all players will receive a highlight video that can be used toward the purpose of recruitment. Camp games will be structured and governed by specific “actions” in order to guarantee team-focused, high IQ basketball. The camp’s objective is for every attendee - and his parent(s) - to gain an accurate sense of his recruiting prospects to a high academic institution. By the camp’s conclusion, each player should understand the strength’s of his game, the areas needing improvement, the precise landscape effecting high-academic recruitment, and the necessary steps forward to be successful.
